Living in North America, Alex Gray had previously spent time in two African prisons. He'd made many friends there who were passionate about creating positive change. Though his books are deeply personal—his alone—Alex decided to launch The Gray News - Beyond Black and White in sunny South Africa, the Rainbow Nation. In a country moving beyond its black-and-white past, he saw a perfect place to inject a bit of humor. A touch of gray had become necessary. While Alex remains involved in content creation, he's handed the reins to his South African associates, allowing them to run wild with ideas.​​​
