An extract from:
The Lady And The Modern-Day Feminist
Feminism used to advocate for women’s rights in pursuit of gender equality. But now, everything seems imbalanced, fueled by misguided perspectives perpetuated by a handful of women who talk big but do little. They are content to stay on the sidelines, utilizing social media as a shielded platform to spread their exaggerated manipulation to those willing to blindly accept it.
Are there still challenges for women’s equality? No doubt. So let’s acknowledge the significant progress that has been made, which some may argue is due to their endless “whining,” but how far has that taken us toward true equality? It shouldn’t be about favoring one side; it should be about finding common ground. Equally.
For me, a genuine feminist takes action instead of just talking. She embraces the fact that she’s a woman, and doesn’t sit on the sidelines, barking at every man, hoping for a moment in the spotlight on Piers Morgan Uncensored, making a fool of herself. No, she works hard behind the scenes, making things happen, striving for genuine change. She’s just as cutthroat as any successful man, except for the fact that she’s a woman.
If I were to embark on a journey through the labyrinth of problems facing women’s equality—encompassing everything from the tangled mess of reproductive rights to the never-ending karaoke of workplace discrimination, and don’t even get me started on gender-based violence ... well, let’s just say I’d need a whole darn library to house my thoughts. So fear not, for I will spare you such a monumental undertaking—I’m just scratching an itch with a brief, kind of “Let’s Get Real” guide relating to uncontaminated logic. And I fully grasp that I’m not breaking any new ground here either. Countless voices have echoed these sentiments before, and many more will follow suit. I, much like the rest of the weary lot, am simply tired of this tiresome cycle of redundancy. Can we not, as a collective society, band together and finally put an end to this circus of division? When will someone have the audacity to shout “enough is enough”?
