Ramaphosa's global peace quest: While SA burns

In the ridiculous world of international diplomacy, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa is stressing about peace in far-off lands like Ukraine. Meanwhile, back home in SA, things are ... let's say, interesting. Ramaphosa had a chat with Russian President Vladimir Putin about Russia's war in Ukraine. Because, yes ... priorities.

Apparently, Ramaphosa emphasized SA's support for peace initiatives to end the war and promote lasting resolution between Russia and Ukraine. Putin was all like, appreciating SA's involvement in advancing peace talks. And Putin expressed satisfaction with talks with Donald Trump (who met him in Alaska), saying: "President Putin expressed satisfaction with the manner in which his talks with President Trump proceeded and the emerging alignment on the peace process."

Now, while Ramaphosa's worrying about peace abroad, folks back in SA are dealing with stuff like load-shedding, corruption, crime, and economic stagnation. According to researchers, South Africans are angry about Ramaphosa's "empty promises." The Gray News wonders why!

Local really is lekker!
