Bust in Limpopo!

Updated: Aug 27

Eleven suspects were "super-caught" for illegal sand mining and being in SA "totally illegally."

Busted red-handed in Sekhukhune, Mopani, and Vhembe districts during the epic Operation Vala Umgodi, six of them got charged for breaking immigration laws, committing fraud like pros, and doing bribery on the down-low.

Police spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba says they confiscated a mini-fleet of trucks and mining gear from the suspects loading sand sans permits at Luckau Village like they owned the place. Stuff they took: two fancy white Mercedes Benz trucks, a white Toyota Dyna truck, four pickaxes for digging like maniacs, eleven shovels for maximum sand theft, five spades for good measure. Seven suspects were "illegal immigrant"-busted in Mopani and Vhembe.

Mantashe says those involved in this wild activity should be treated like the ultimate criminals – because sand mining without permits is basically a felony sport.

Well, obviously those involved should be treated like criminals. If they've been caught red-handed, why waste taxpayer money on investigations and trials? Just prosecute the bastards and send the illegals back home pronto. Saves money, solves problem.

Local really is lekker!
