The green children of Woolpit: A medieval mystery

In the quaint village of Woolpit, Suffolk, England, a bizarre phenomenon occurred in the 12th century. Two children, a boy and a girl, emerged from the depths of a mysterious cave, their skin a deep shade of green. The villagers were shocked, not just by their unusual appearance, but also by their strange behavior and unknown language.

The green children refused to eat anything but raw beans, which they devoured with an unrelenting passion. They spoke in an unintelligible tongue, leaving the villagers scratching their heads in confusion. Who were these mysterious youngsters, and where did they come from?

Some believed the children were orphans from Flanders, malnourished and suffering from a rare condition that turned their skin green. Others thought they might be the product of some sort of mystical or supernatural encounter. And then, of course, there were those who blamed the obvious: aliens.

A blast from the past!
