Vatican insider leaks ‘Lost Book of Mary,’ sparks calls for reform

Updated: Aug 30, 2025

VATICAN CITY - A former Vatican archivist has come forward with explosive claims that a previously unknown book detailing the life of Mary, mother of Jesus, has been hidden away in the Vatican’s Secret Archives for centuries. There have been conspiracy theories about this in the past, but now the former archivist claims it does exist.

According to the whistleblower, the book, titled ‘Liber Mariæ,’ offers a unique perspective on the life of Mary, written in the first century by an early Christian scribe. The archivist, who wishes to remain anonymous, claims that the book was deliberately excluded from the biblical canon due to its feminine perspective, which was deemed threatening to the patriarchal structure of the early Christian church.

The leak has sent shockwaves through the Catholic community, with many women calling for the new Pope to take action to address the historical erasure of women’s voices in the Church. “This is a clear example of the systemic silencing of women’s experiences and perspectives,” said Dr. Maria Rodriguez, a theologian at a Pontifical University. “It’s time for the Church to acknowledge and rectify this injustice.”

Activists are now urging the Pope to reconsider the Church’s stance on women’s roles and to incorporate more feminine perspectives into its teachings. “The Book of Mary offers will offer a powerful counter-narrative to the dominant patriarchal discourse,” said Sister Lucia, a leading figure in the Women’s Ordination Movement. “It’s time for the Church to listen to the voices of women and to recognize the importance of feminine leadership.”

The Vatican has declined to comment on the leak, but sources close to the Pope indicate that he is taking the matter very seriously.
