DE WALLEN, AMSTERDAM - In the bustling red-light district, an apparent fetishization of plus-size sex workers has led to a quiet rebellion among the regular, straight-size sex workers. Local and foreign clients, driven by the growing societal demand of “cushy-sex" (nothing like a lazy Sunday afternoon on your sofa), now seek out plus-size sex workers as a preference. Capitalizing on the trend, plus-size workers have shifted their pricing strategies, now charging per kilogram.
"Pricing per kilogram has led to unprecedented profits for plus-size workers under current market conditions," said Lola, a straight-size worker in De Wallen’s buzzing red-light district. "Of course, it's a response to demand, and the bigger girls are taking advantage of it."
In an interview with The Gray News, another straight-size worker voiced her opinion. "This is an affront to our industry," said Kaylee B, a 5-year supplier of services. "It used to be about personal choice, you know – you see, you choose, you like, and you buy. The amount was all very similar – neither here nor there. But now our bigger colleagues are taking advantage. There is already a trend favoring the bigger ones, and because they are charging fees based on their weight, they are emptying our clients’ pockets, leaving less for us."
“Why not?” said Amalia, a plus-size worker proudly weighing in at 102 kilograms. “Men want this now - right now, and I’m making more money than ever before. No skinny b***h is going to stop me from keeping a scale in my room. I’m not breaking no rules.”
In the dynamic landscape of an ever-evolving industry, an unusual and noteworthy situation has emerged. This scenario, while possibly not entirely unprecedented, is certainly uncommon and possesses a depth of complexity. As the “oldest profession in the world” continues to shift and adapt to new trends and consumer demands, it reveals intricacies that warrant closer examination, suggesting that understanding its full scope requires a keen eye for detail and an awareness of the industry's ongoing evolution.
