Freiburg YouTuber raises €5,000 to free 'Flauschig' the rabbit from Hasenpfeffer fate in a dramatic live stream

FREIBURG IM BREISGAU, GERMANY - YouTuber "FreiStreamer" held a beautiful little rabbit named Flauschig, capturing the hearts of thousands. Flauschig, an adorable mix of white and brown with twitching whiskers and big curious eyes, was living in a comfortable space in FreiStreamer's cozy Freiburg home. But in a twist that gripped viewers, FreiStreamer aimed to raise €5,000 to let Flauschig go free into the nearby Black Forest woods.The stakes were high: If FreiStreamer didn't raise the €5,000, he would live stream himself eating Flauschig in a traditional German Hasenpfeffer stew. The YouTuber's gamble sparked a wave of disdain from animal activists and animal lovers alike, and a stream of support from some followers, hailing his idea as “genius.”

In an emotional finale, FreiStreamer surpassed his goal, raising €5,127 in donations, and in a live stream watched by 23,419 viewers, FreiStreamer freed Flauschig into the sun-dappled woods near Freiburg, letting the beautiful little rabbit hop into freedom. "Flauschig's free!" FreiStreamer exclaimed.

The Freiburg YouTuber said he was "overwhelmed" by the generosity and support for Flauschig's freedom. "I'm glad we didn't have to make Hasenpfeffer," he laughed, relieved. “He really was a pleasant rabbit.”
