THEIRS TO BEGIN

By Alex Gray

An idea so difficult to just understand, it decided to take and conquer their land.

Was it theirs from the start? Was it theirs to begin? Did he just have a grudge that he needed to win?

Were their actions delivered just so gravely bad? That it hammered and tore what the world labelled sad.

Then why did they only just sit back and follow? The tyranny, attack, the world now in sorrow.

And all they allowed was to sit back and take. Were the facts we received something real or part-fake?

The atrocity witnessed was painted as gloom. Believers opposed but created self-doom.

Yet the dress that I saw was beauty to see. But to love and align left no choice but flee.

In essence the risk to pursue I must take. The news is forgotten and nothing is fake.

Or so it did seem as we ran with pure will, and leave for the safety, no worry to fill.

The void it would leave was gone, maybe lost. Our families thoughts, we were taken and tossed?

With the rest of the hurt and the buried and dread. They couldn’t escape, so surely they’re dead.

Like the masses before who were unfairly slayed, which damaged the souls, dishonestly paid.

But as young and love goes, we never did care, for the fallen and left, we never would stare.

In essence we find the truth that is known. The flesh disappears like the hard in a stone.

She decided to choose and go back to beginning. The love that we shared was no longer winning.

Our roots must go back to just where we’re born. Our hatred gets built upon past harmful scorn.

To now join the view on how it appears, and keep our minds closed, not look at the spheres.

That originally caused the unthinkable act. Was it really made up as an actual fact?

That was told in a way that went only one side. It was shown to the world, which wounded their pride.

The other sides act was a matter of thought, that was told of just cruelty, that’s all that was bought.

She went back to the way, it’s all that she knew. It stemmed from her youth, not entirely true.

Our love was so real, so pure and so tough, but our differences proved that enough was enough.

Her ears had now heard what the world had just told. She purchased the side that sold cruelty and cold.

But please don’t forget there’s a reason for all, which may only unfold, long after the fall.
