MTF investigates allegations of ball manipulation by Jannik Sinner

MONTE CARLO - The Monegasque Tennis Federation (MTF) has launched an investigation into allegations that world number one Jannik Sinner deliberately manipulated the ball during the final match against Carlos Alcaraz in the 2026 Monte-Carlo Masters.

Sources close to the tournament say Sinner was seen adjusting the ball's pressure during a timeout, potentially giving him an unfair advantage. The incident has sparked concerns about the integrity of the game.

Sinner's team has denied any wrongdoing, saying the adjustment was merely to ensure the ball met tournament standards. The MTF is reviewing footage and interviewing officials.

If found guilty, Sinner could face penalties ranging from fines to tournament suspensions. The scandal has sent shockwaves through the tennis world, with players and officials calling for stricter regulations.

Carlos Alcaraz's comments were overwhelmingly in favour of Sinner.
